Raymonde Abecassis
Israeli Moroccan Singer
Raymonde was born in Casablanca and immigrated to Israel at the age of 18. She began her career by performing songs belonging to the old Moroccan musical repertoire in order to revive the heritage and ensure its continuity. Raymonde has also acted in multiple plays and movies exclusively in the Moroccan dialect. Despite her big influence in the Chaabi (popular) genre, Raymonde has a few original songs such as “Al Adama ma Mannouch”, “Attoumoubil” and “Idirha al kass”. Today, Raymonde is still invited to perform in multiple events and festivals such as the 13th edition of Andalousies d’Essaouira and and is considered an icon of Moroccan Judeo musical heritage.
Yaël Abecassis

Yaël Abecassis is an Israeli actress and producer of Moroccan origin. She began a modeling career before making herself known in her country. In 1990, she turs her career towards cinema and shot “Pour Sacha” by Alexandre Arcady and appeared in several Israeli films, notably “Kadosh” by Amos Gitai, which revealed her internationally in 1999. Two years later, Yaël Abecassis gets his first major French role with “Bella Ciao” directed by Stéphane Giusti. Two years later, she features in the film “Live and Become” by Radu Mihaileanu’s. In 2006, Yaël Abecassis shot alongside Alain Chabat in “Papa” before joining Olivier Panchot for his adaptation of Marie Desplechin’s novel Without me. In 2008, Yaël Abecassis played in “Survivre avec les loups” and then in the film “One Week”, a drama by Ronit and Shlomi Elkabetz
