PIERRE ANCTIL
Pierre Anctil is one of the first French-speaking researchers to be interested in the history of immigration to Canada during the first half of the twentieth century and that of the Jewish community of Montreal in particular, subjects on which he is pursuing the study for over thirty years.
In 2013, he was awarded the Luc-Lacourcière Medal for his work entitled Jacob-Isaac Segal (1896-1954), a Yiddish poet from Montreal and his environment (PUL, 2012) and in 2014 the Canada Prize from the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
In 2015 he received the Louis Rosenberg Award of Excellence in Canadian Jewish Studies from the Canadian Association of Jewish Studies. In 2017, he published at Éditions Boréal a comprehensive work entitled: L’histoire des Juifs du Québec, which was a finalist in 2018 for the literary awards of the Governor General of Canada in the essay category. In 2020, he received the Gérard-Parizeau Prize, awarded each year alternately in the fields of economics and management, then history, to underline the exceptional contribution of a researcher in these fields.

CORINNE BÉNICHOU
In 1999, she created the artistic agency Esther, a beautiful adventure of seven (7) years. That same year, Regards sur la ville was created, a cultural bulletin on paper for four (4) years, which has become a cultural magazine on the Net for eighteen (18) years : www.regardssurlaville.net
In 2005, she founded Rétrospective festival.
In 2015, Corinne Bénichou chose to devote herself to tourism journalism which combines travel, gastronomy, leisure, well-being, discovery and other activities, without forgetting accommodation and services, with category Sortir on Regards sur la ville and Sur la route page on Facebook.
JORGE GUTMAN
Since 1996, he has been a columnist for El Popular, the Spanish newspaper in Canada, where he writes about the most important newly released films in Montreal. For 20 years he was a cinema and other cultural activities critic at CKUT 90.3 Radio Mc Gill and CFMB 1280 until 2015 in his weekly program Reseña Cultural. Gutman has his proper internet site Tribuna Cultural where he continues his work as journalist/culture critic. He is also a member of the Québec Film Critics Association and occasionally participates as a moderator in the presentation of art films. He has participated as a Fipresci juror in some international film festivals like, Cannes, Toronto, Montreal and Guadalajara as well as a film critic at Sundance and Berlin.
ARIEL IFERGAN
As artistic director of the company Pas de Panique, Ariel produces, writes and directs several shows including You Have No Chance, Georges Perec’s The Increase, Le Petit Arturo. From 2007 to 2017, he played all the characters in Z as Zadig, an adaptation of Voltaire’s tale directed by Anne Millaire.
After a 3-year creative residency at the Segal Centre, he produced J. Garfinkel’s La Maison aux 67 languages at the Theatre La Unicorne, a show in which he performed under the direction of Philippe Lambert.
On television, Ariel Ifergan made his name in Watatow and Virginie. Recently, we saw him in Amber Alert, Cerebrum, Breakup, Another Story. In addition, he plays the mathematics teacher in The Secondary Effect. In the cinema field, he collaborated with Micheline Lanctôt in A Way of Living where he played the philosopher Baruch Spinoza.

MARIE-JOSÉ RAYMOND
Marie-José has been involved in many co-productions. She has worked in Italy with Carlo Ponti and Ettore Scola, and in France with SFP, France 3 and many other producers. In all, she has produced some 20 feature films, many of which have won awards at international festivals. Marie-José Raymond was chosen by the Canadian government to negotiate the cultural component of the first free-trade agreement with the U.S. and subsequently of the GATT. She is the originator of the expression “cultural exception.”
In 2007, Marie-José Raymond has founded and headed until 2019 with Claude Fournier: Éléphant, the memory of Quebec cinema.
ERIC SCOTT
Twenty years later, he started his own production house in order to develop his own projects with a minimum of corporate constraints.
Eric Scott’s films address themes of nationalism, religious and ethnic identity, fundamentalism and multiculturalism. He is particularly interested in individuals of good faith who rebel against authority. The point of exposing these novel and complex stories is to stimulate social debate and challenge conventional wisdom.
BEVERLY SHAFFER
Beverly Shaffer a acquis une réputation internationale pour ses documentaires perspicaces et finement travaillés, remportant plus de 40 prix, dont un Oscar, au cours d’une carrière de 30 ans à l’Office national du film du Canada. Ses nombreux crédits incluent le gagnant de l’Oscar I’ll find a way; sa suite, Juste un mariage; À ma naissance; Vers un endroit plus sûr; et la célèbre série Enfants de Jérusalem. au début de sa carrière, elle a travaillé sur les séries primées Nova et Zoom, toutes deux produites par la station PBS WGBH basée à Boston.
