Underneath Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium, where Beitar Jerusalem’s soccer fans gather, there is a ballet school. Nadya, the school’s director, is the daughter of Russian ballet dancer Nina Timofeyeva, who danced at the renowned Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Nadya’s budding ballet career ended when the two of them emigrated to Israel after the collapse of the Soviet Union. She has been teaching ballet to the young generation since then, struggling to finance the school and to help young dancers reconcile their military service with their commitment to dancing.
