Soul of a Nation

This documentary offers a deep and nuanced portrait of Israeli society in turmoil – political crises, waves of protest, and war, before and after October 7, 2023. Through candid interviews with citizens from all walks of life – Sephardic, Ashkenazi, liberal, and traditional – the film seeks to understand what unites and divides the nation.

DIRECTOR

Jonathan Jakubowicz, a Venezuelan-Israeli filmmaker, is known for his socially charged works (Secuestro Express, etc.). Soul of a Nation is his most politically engaged documentary to date, exploring the soul of a country in the midst of internal crisis.
