Ronit Ifergan and her husband settled in Kibbutz Kfar Aza in 2013 and began documenting their daily life in Border Living. After the October 7, 2023 attack, the film reflects on the personal and collective trauma experienced by those living on the border — fear, violence, and the heartbreaking choice between home and safety. An intimate look at the resilience of one family and an entire community.

Ronit Ifergan is an Israeli documentary filmmaker, previously known for Border Living (2013), a chronicle of life along the Gaza border. Paradise Shattered is her most personal work to date: she films her own family in the face of the horror of October 7, blending intimate testimony with a collective narrative, guided by a precise cinematic vision
